How's it going all?! Been going great lately for me. Except for the fact that I have to go through an ungodly ton of deviations and whatnot else. I wanna say 750 total but the number 739 is burning a hole in my head for some stinkin' reason all of a sudden.

That's the recent news. Now for the extremely good news!!!

Ever since I was 3 yrs old, I've wanted to fly planes or work on them or even desighn them. Today, it seems as though my dream might actually come true. I've been working at a local Sam's Club for the past year and 3/4, almost 2 actually, and I've just been getting sick and annoyed like crazy. The job just has no future for me that I can see. All my days have been getting dimer and more blurred as I've been increasing my torure daily by going there each night to work.

The other week my mother's friend called and told us that there was going to be a job fair at the Tacoma Dome and that there might be some jobs there I might like so I may want to go check it out. She called back later, before mom and I headed out and she told us that nothing was there of HER interest, since she does specialize in some high skill job that's impossible to find, but that Horizon and a few other airlines were there. I printed off about 30 copies of my resume for security, just in case, and we headed out for the dome.

I got there, in a solid blue long sleeve shirt and a tie and we headed in. The first booth was Horizon and I stopped by to ask about what they were looking for and they needed ground crews and a few other positions might also be available. I asked if they would accept a written resume and they said that they preffered the online ones instead. I took their cards and went about looking at the other job presentations that were there and none of then struck my interest at all. I did manage to give my resume to a Coca-Cola bottle making company for a forklift driver though, but nothing else.

We started to head out and I stopped because something told me to go back and talk to the Horizon lady again and ask a bit more about the position, so I did. I went up to her and asked if there was anything that I could do in order to make my resume online stand out anymore than usual and seem more interesting and she replied, "Not really, but if you really want the job..." She then reached over behing the table, into her bag and pulled out some papers and handed them to me and said, "Fill these out and bring them back to me before the fair is over and I'll give you an interview here and now in the back room over there."

I took the papers and told her I'd be back in half and hour. It took a little bit longer than that to fill the thing out because I wanted to fill it out but also read everything as I went, which I usually don't always do. Plus the fact that is was all six pages long, didn't help matters any. After filling them out, I brought them back to her and she then took me into the back for the interview and I gave her a copy of my resume. She asked me to give different examples for different situations on how you'd handle them and aslo asked me about my work ethics, which is how you work with others. I told her I was going to be straight with her, that " Though Iv'e never been the one in charge, I've worked with the best and the worst and over the yrs and frankly, I'm not better than you, you're not better than me. I'm not gonna ask you to do anything I'm not willing to do myself at anytime and that's because I don't care to get my people hurt by my bad decision just as much as I don't wanna get hurt by someone elses bad decison. Everyone is equal whether you're my supervisor or I'm yours and that's exactly how I'm going to treat you because that exacptly how I expect to be treated, as an equal regardless of position or rank. My ideas are just as important as yours." Telling her that pretty much ended the interview and and she stood up and shook my hand and by her body language, I couldn't tell if that just went well or if it ruined it for me and then she smiled and said, "now let's get you out there and scheduled for a physical and a drug test appointment so we can get you down to Portland for your city code test ASAP so we can get you back up here to work at SeaTac airport." *heart skips a few beats*

We walked out and my mother saw the gal walking out, unable to tell if the interview went well or not, and then I walked out, pail as a ghost and when mom looked at me, it was all that I could do to keep my sanity and keep from running up the wall and in a circle on my side on the floor like Homer Simpson with his famous "woowoowoowoowoowoo!!!" to give a big cheesey grin and two thumbs up. Mom smiled and the gal noticed it and turned to look at me and I immediately went straight, hands to side and back to being serious, before she saw me. She smiled and kept walking over to the other gal and told her to set me up for my appointment.

All in all, I'm gonna be flown down to Portland for a week, all expenses paid; $15 a day for food reimbursment at end of the week; $8 an hr while down there; appon completion of tests, I'm flown back up here for my two weeks on the job training at $10.08 an hr and then I'm there for good if I still want it. The $10.08 is before my 3 yrs experience at other businesses though so estimate about $12.50 or so an hr and medical, dental, 401k, and optics thrown in appon completion and it's a day job. THANK YOU GOD!!!!! I'm only making about $10.20 an hr right now with the night differential. I'll be breaking about even with this and maybe a little extra for a day job, where if I switched to days at Sam's, I'd lose 50 cents for the night to day differance.

After being there for awhile, hopefully I'll be able to look into one of their programs to go to school and become a mechanic, desihner, or even a pilot. I'd rather have all three though and build whatever I want in my own company, but of course I'd always be on the ground working with my guys. That's what I REALLY want to do.
