When I was hired a year ago for Horizon Air, it was the happiest day in my life, because I'd made a dream come true, I was working with aircraft. I was good at my job, but unfirtunately, dreams can't last forever. Some situations ended up occuring that caused me to mess up on my paperwork and forget to write down certain things that I had loaded in the cargo pit and the last straw was caused by a computer's error, and they terminated me.

We started a new procedure that entalled a person to work in the compoint at a dresk, doing nothing more than filling out the load worksheets and cargo manifests for the ramp agents who would load and unload the planes. I was working on loading an aircraft when while in the pit, I was given two boxes of fish, and they had checked bag tags on them as though they had been checked inside at the ticket counter. We've had this happen tons of times before and it was no surprise. I saw no stickers saying heavy (31-60lbs) on them and they were lighter than most of the other normal bags (1-30lbs) I had and the cargo minfest, filled out by the compoint agent, said "NO CARGO" on it so I marked them as normal bags and didn't think to check for anything else.

Another problem, was that they had also taken the boxes out of their apointed cargo cart and added them to the baggage cart, mixed with the other bags. I got a call later from my supervisor that the boxes were in fact cargo of 120 pounds or so. I was off on my load count by 60 lbs and had the load marked wrong. I told him about the paperwork and what was on the boxes and even showed him the load manifest and cargoe manifests all saying "NOTHING EXPECTED" and asked him where the heck the boxes came from that had been in the cart and why was my paperwork false. Come to find out, Horizon Air, in their infinate wisdom, thought it would be smart to get rid of the Cargo Manifest programs so that the compoint agent doesn't know of any cargo that is expected at all. They would fill out the paperwork correctly to the best of their knowledge and we on the ramp would take the fall if anything would go wrong. It was a set-up, and I walked right into it. The price, the job of my dreams.

Now I'm going around, applying online for several jobs and getting NO responses. I don't think anyone even checks those dang thinks even if they tell you to go do it. I've gotten more responses and phone calls just for showing up and droping off a resume with no application. Boeings on the other hand, hasn't responded at all and all they accept is online resumes. Wish me luck.
